The Missoula County MSU Extension Office and Missoula County Weed District work to provide coordination, educational outreach and training using current research-based information and resources to address the needs of the public in the areas of weed & pest management, horticulture/agriculture, youth development, family and consumer sciences, nutrition and additional areas identified by the communities we serve. Weed District: Missoula County Weed District actively promotes and encourages cooperation with local, state, and federal partners beyond the boundaries of Missoula County to support research and education projects that advance the management of invasive species and promote desirable aquatic and terrestrial plant communities in Missoula County, the state of Montana and the Northern Rocky Mountain region.

4-H Youth Development: Youth ages 5-19 learn leadership, citizenship and other life skills. Sixteen 4-H Clubs to choose from!

Horticulture: From small backyard vegetable gardens to larger market garden and business enterprises, as well as for those who are interested in ornamental plants and landscape choices, backyard gardens and their caretakers are an important part of what makes Missoula known as "The Garden City." Plant Clinic: The Plant Clinic provides leadership and educational opportunities to the public on the identification of insect and plant samples. Diagnosing plant and pest problems and offering recommendations for integrated pest management practices (IPM) of plant diseases, pests, and related plant health problems.

Nutrition: EFNEP is a nutrition education program for limited-resource families with children as well as youth. The main goal of EFNEP is to help limited-resource families and youth acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to change behavior for nutritional well-being.

Family: A Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) County Extension Agent is a person who can assist you with a wide body of research-based knowledge on topics that affect your entire life: your food, your family, your house and your finances.

Aquatic Invasive Species: The Missoula County Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) District is the first and only county AIS district in Montana. Created in spring of 2020, the purpose of the district is to coordinate the prevention, monitoring and management of AIS within the county, as well as educate the people living and recreating within Missoula County on the identification and impacts of aquatic invasive species to the environment and our economy.

Mosquitoes: The purpose of a Mosquito Control District is to manage and control mosquito pests and prevent diseases such as West Nile and Equine Encephalitis while providing for the protection of humans, livestock, pets, songbirds, and other wildlife.
